The Biology Resources guide provides a helpful overview of biology resources.
Web of Science allows you to search across the top databases for scholarship in biology. To search within a specific subdiscipline, select the relevant database name from the drop-down list—for example, BIOSIS Previews, Zoological Record, or MEDLINE (the database behind PubMed). Searching within an individual database gives you more searching options. You can find more search tips in this guide.
PubMed is good if you need biomedical information. Anyone can search at pubmed.com; to access the full text of all articles, make sure you’re using the library-proxied link. Note that you can also search PubMed in Web of Science (see above).
