The Music Department's Ethnomusicology Lab has:

Transcription Equipment

2 cassette transcription machines are available for use in lab or to be checked out. There is also a mini-disc with a footpedal control for in lab use. 2 Midi keyboards are connected to the MAC.

Access to the Ethnolab is open to

  • Current graduate students in ethnomusicology.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in ethnomusicology courses who require the resources of the Ethnolab for course projects.
  • Individual students with the consent of a faculty member and upon application to the Department Administrator, subject to availability.

Field equipment can be checked out for defined periods of time through the Ethnolab student manager, Peter McMurray [mcmurray@fas.harvard.edu]
