Hilles Library closed in 2005. Opened in the Radcliffe Quadrangle in 1965, upon its closing, 28,000 books were kept in the building, renamed the Quad Library. Unique titles and valuable duplicates were dispersed to other Harvard libraries, and the remaining 158,000 volumes were donated to the Sun Yat-Sen University Library in China.
The Quad Library was closed in 2009; the building now houses student organizations and is called The Student Organization Center at Hilles.
