Harvard does not have one central place for students to gather. For undergraduates, much of campus life centers on the House System. For graduates, each school has its own spaces for study and recreation.
This should be changing, however, in the next few years. The Holyoke Center, in the middle of Harvard Square, has been renamed the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Campus Center and the plan is to transform it into an all-purpose gathering place for the whole campus.
