Generally, the fine for overdue is 50 cents a day. For overdue recalled items, the fine is $2 a day with no grace period.
Lost books incur a lost book fee; a billing fee; and the overdue fines. If the book is later returned, the lost book fee alone is generally refunded. Exact fees vary by library.
There are several special categories of fines- reserves, non-book formats and short or hourly loan periods.
