Either a HarvardKey sign-in or a Harvard ID number and a PIN (Personal Identification Number) is required to access most of Harvard's e-resources  from outside the library buildings, both on campus and off.

Special borrowers can use the special borrower ID to gain entrance to a library, where they can use the resources. Public computers in Harvard libraries provide access to resources without requiring a HarvardKey or PIN.
